Joel is a recent graduate of Loyola University Chicago (www.luc.edu) with two majors in International Business and Sport Management. Joel speaks Japanese fluently and is currently studying Chinese and Spanish. Joel was a very influential student within his business courses at Loyola, due to his familiarity with current issues and skilled persuasive writing.
Joel worked at the 5 Star 5 Diamond Peninsula Hotel Chicago (based out of Hong Kong and Shanghai - Peninsula Chicago English Website) from October 2009 – December 2010. He has also done two internships; one year-long with a company called Octagon (Octagon Website), as their Japan Baseball Intern, and the other was a professional NFL team called the Chicago Bears (Chicago Bears Website) as their Corporate Sales intern.
Joel especially loves business and international cultures and was the Public Relations Student Director of Loyola University's International Club for 2.5 years, therefore, Joel has a great perspective on the effect of internationalism. Furthermore, he has worked at the Loyola University Tutoring Center in 2007 as an ESL, Japanese, and Economics tutor, as well as a Resume and Cover Letter builder/revisionist. During this time, he developed his love for assisting international students apply to foreign schools.
